Summer 2007 is an Indiam drama directed by Suhail Tatari in 2008. Filmed in Hindi, the movie deals with five medical students who undergo a rude awakening after visiting a Maharashtrian village and witness the misfortune of villagers. The film stars Sikander Kher, Gul Panag, Yuvika Choudhary, Arjan Bajwa and Alekh Sangal as the five students. The main story runs parallel with a love story which intertwines as the students realise new meaning in their lives. Ultimately they each undergo a transformation whilst in rural exile.

A Wednesday is an Indian thriller drama written and directed by Neeraj Pandey. The film depicts an about to retire police commissioner narrating a sequence of events that unfolded on a Wednesday. They exist only in his mind and in the minds of several others involved. Although there are no written records, the events effect the lives of all those involved willingly or unwillingly. A Wednesday stars Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead roles.

This 2007 film is based on the novel The Blue Umbrella by Ruskin Bond. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj in 2007 it stars Shreya Sharma and Panjak Kapoor in the lead roles. The story is set in the small village of Himachal Pradesh where little girl, Binya, trades her necklace for a pretty blue umbrella. A rich shopkeeper becomes jealous of the umbrella and employs a boy to steal it. When the girls umbrella goes missing the shopkeeper is seen with a new red one. Attention turns to him but the villagers discover his is the blue umbrella dyed red and his reputation is tarnished. The story concludes with the little girl giving the umbrella to the shopkeeper and dancing down the road happy.

PAA is a 2009 film directed by R Balakrishnan, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan. The film is based on a genetic condition known as progeria and tells the story of a father son relationship. The music was scored by veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja and the film is critically and commercially acclaimed. Amitabh Bachchan won the Filmfare Best Actor Award and Vidya Balan got her first Filmfare Best Actress Award.

Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara translates as I did not kill Gandhi and is an Indian film directed by Jahnu Barua and produced by Anupam Kher. In the film a poem by noted Hindi poet, Nirala, Himmat Karne Walon Ki Har Nahi Hoti (Those who have courage never fail) is depicted as the favourite poem of the main character, a retired Hindi professor. The film explores his downward spiral as he falls victim to dementia. Uttam Chaudury believes he killed Gandhi and develops an obsession. His family try to help him as he seeks treatment for his ever increasing madness. A touching film.
