CFCP Projects / Series
PLANET EARTH REVOLVING
MOVING IMAGE SCREENING SERIES
curated by Treasa O’Brien
k

Special Series
part of the Independent Cinema Series

The series is intended as an introduction and showcase of experimental practice and will feature a mix of ‘classics’ (in the avant-garde world) and some more neglected but important works.  It will be curated around themes rather than a chronological history in keeping with the overall theme of the mostly non-linear nature of the works. So times and geography will be jumped and circled.

It will have an international remit and aims to show films and filmmakers* not just as single authors but to place them in a context of wider movements.  It will also introduce Irish artists and filmmakers into the thematic.

The Centre for Creative Practices aims to develop, sustain, promote and present new arts and creative practices in Dublin and Ireland through the organisation of artistic events and education.

The current climate might seem to be against us. We dare to believe the opposite. We believe that culture is a fundamental value for every society, that the arts are an indispensable system of reference for personal and collective values, an example of diversity and tolerance and a vital tool to neutralise the stagnation.

About CFCP

The Centre for Creative Practices (CFCP) established in 2009 in Dublin is the only cultural venue in Ireland devoted to enhancing the visibility of resident international artists to wider audiences. Along with this the Centre promotes experimental and independent arts projects as well as multidisciplinary and multicultural collaborations.

CFCP is committed to giving artists the possibility to improve their financial situation through offering artists workshops and seminars in our venue. CFCP also offers promotional strategies for interesting artistic initiatives.

CFCP facilitates both programmes by the international and local artists through provision of a gallery, workshop space and a venue on very accessible rates as well as presents its own programme.
