Rhombus is a jazz chamber ensemble with a simple manifesto: 'music should feel honest,
responsive and organic'. The group was created to pose new challenges in jazz composition and to
create musical environments that are exciting for musicians to operate within.
Rhombus is led by Castlebar-born Dennis Wyers, a composer/performer working in the jazz and modern-music scene in Dublin.
They draw on a wide variety of genres including Nordic Jazz classical impressionism, the blues and drum-and-bass. Regardless of the genre, the group aim to give each musician space to respond to each other and let the audience hear that modern jazz can be exciting, energetic and deeply moving. |
