Hi in July!

Hope you are all enjoying the longest and warmest days of the year as much as we are!!

At CFCP we are kicking off the second part of the year with the opening of two exhibitions “I like boring things” and “Chasing Shadows” as a part of the first edition of the PhotoIreland Festival, on till the 11th July and taking part in 35 venues all over Dublin. We are happy to be one of them!!!

Also under the umbrella of PhotoIreland Festival we will be presenting a photography workshop investigating the expressive possibilities of the Cyanotype and Van Dyke processes by Ian Mitton and a talk by Hugh McElveen – “Creating the Perfect Print”.

“Shooting from the Lip” - a poetry evening with Karl Parkinson and other spoken word artists and poets followed with readings by Nell McCafferty, Katie Donovan, Mike McCormack and Chris Agee later in July makes this month’s programme an interesting dialog between the captured images and the fictional or nonfictional descriptions.

Our musical highlight of the month is an improvised concert by Kwadrofonik presenting their fresh, sensual and courageous dialog between pianos & percussions - a musical feast & unforgettable theatrical spectacle.  Please note that this event due to a high demand will take place in the Banquet Hall @ Smock Alley and not in CFCP.

Back in our space we will host another exceptional concert/happening by David Bremner and his Improvised Music Theatre Band “The Open Rehearsals”. Book asap as it will be packed!!!

Our highly popular weekly Jazz Jam Session – is open to everybody who likes to play or to listen.

Two exhibitions, one by 10-12 artists “Transformers” presenting drawings, paintings, photography and mixed media, is a series of snapshots of the artists’ everyday journeys and tales and the second by Pierre Godet “One line” presenting his synthesis of two major POP artist "Andy Warhol" and "Keith Haring", will be two very different and very appealing shows by the Dublin’s young artistic souls.

Before and after every event our patio area is an open and quiet place to relax on the bean bags enjoying a cup of tea or you own drinks you can bring with you.

Hopefully see you soon!

Monika
